You’re referring to it as if it’s not an actual job, when it is in fact a source of income you get from doing certain tasks.

I love when people come at us with the whole ‘when are you going to get a *real* job’ bullshit. As if this kind of work is just a fairytale and isn’t based in reality or anything. As if we don’t get paid for it..just like any other ‘real’ job.
I also love the notion have that it’s always just setting up your webcam and taking pictures with no effort put into it. For paysite models, there’s a lot more responsibility than what people assume. You have to have a photographer (and make sure there schedule matches yours), you have to find good settings (which a lot of the time includes renting out hotel rooms), you have to focus on good lighting, the angles. Doing your hair and makeup and buying outfits. Not to mention the days when you really aren’t feeling too hot or confident or you’re ill, you just have to suck it up and be photographed regardless. You have to make sure you’re putting out a variety of poses and that you’re not making ridiculous facial expressions. You write up text, come up with titles and make sure you aren’t repeating the same theme all the time (which gets really difficult after awhile). That’s not even including the editing aspect that some of us do. There’s a lot that goes into it rather than just snapping a few pictures. So it really irks me when people expect us to do it for free or as if there’s no work involved whatsoever.

I’m not saying its a terrible job at all. In fact, it’s been my favorite that I’ve had thus far. However, people who feel as though it’s not an actual job or it doesn’t require work are very deluded and usually rude.
